Shalom Sanctuary

Our aim is offer  two  stages of accommodation and own various homes. The first stage sanctuary allows the women to stay for four to six months. The second stage accommodation will allow women to stay for six to twelve months , where low rent is payable. Later work on providing third stage accommodation, where the women are allowed to stay for twelve to twenty four  months, rent will be paid.

Description

Shalom Sanctuary was established in December 2010. A few years ago the Lord gave me a vision to start a sanctuary for abused women and children. The Sanctuary started in my home, where I took in women to stay with me, where I counseled them for a period of time until they were ready to leave. We are a registered as a Non Profit Organization, our Sanctuary is highly confidential and we work closely with the Child Protection Unit, Courts  and Social Services.  We have a trained housemother, to ensure the smooth running of the Sanctuary.

SERVICES OFFERED

  1. Counseling Process which includes choosing to forgive, anger management and renewing of the mind.
  2. Life skills training.
  3. Boundaries course.
  4. Dream chart.
  5. Training and developing skills
  6. Trauma counseling.
  7. Legal advice on maintenance, child grants, divorce, protection order.

We also have a feeding scheme in the community providing food parcels and clothing, and a support group for parents who has children addicted to drugs.

To provide a place of safety and shelter for abused women and children.

To empower women with the necessary tools to get out and stay out.

To provide emotional support to:

  1. Conquer timidity and helpless dependency.
  2. Develop strength to start over.
  3. Heal emotional and physical scars.
  4. Defeat the fear of being alone.
  5. Enjoy healthy relationships.
  6. Protect children from experiencing abuse.
